Generous device width and parabolic reflectors on the outer bulbs improve the evenness of light distribution to the human form.

The key to the SolRx 1000 Series Full Body Panel is how it distributes the light. Your body is not flat, so the device has parabolic reflectors behind the two outermost bulbs to amplify their output and increase the amount of light delivered to the sides of your body. Combined with the central band of the unit that does not have a reflector (the white band down the centre where the timer and labels are located), there is a great improvement in the evenness and symmetry of light distribution across your body. This is clearly shown in the picture, where the outer bulbs appear much wider than the inner bulbs.

This design also makes for a relatively wide unit
(29" overall), providing adequate coverage of larger people. The width across the outer lamps is very wide: 22.5" center to center, compared to only 14" for one competitor’s model !

These units are designed for maximum long term utility in a compact, cost effective package.

The various models all use the same main frame, and differ only in the waveband type and number of ultraviolet bulbs. Within the model number, the third digit indicates the number of bulbs. For example, a 1760 has 6 bulbs. The suffix describes the waveband type. "UVB" is UVB-Broadband and "UVB-NB" is UVB-Narrowband.

A device with more bulbs provides shorter treatment times. It follows that the best device value can be determined by simply comparing their cost-per-watt. For example, for a 1790UVB-NB, divide its cost by its 1000 watts of power, and compare it to that of other competitive units. The 1000 Series generally always has the lowest cost-per-watt and the highest value.

The pictures below describe the various models:

4 Bulbs: 1740UVB-NB or 1740UVB
1740UVB-NB or 1740UVB
4 Bulbs, 400 Watts

The 1740UVB-NB is the least powerful 1000 Series UVB-Narrowband device. It is suitable for people that require lower dosages, such as vitiligo patients.
The 1740UVB is Solarc's original device from 1992. It provides very reasonable treatment times for UVB-Broadband. (20 seconds to a few minutes)

6 Bulbs: 1760UVB-NB or 1760UVB
1760UVB-NB or 1760UVB
6 Bulbs, 600 Watts

The 1760UVB-NB is a good choice for psoriasis treatment of lighter skinned people, or for vitiligo.
The 1760UVB is a very powerful UVB-Broadband device. Its value is that it can be re-bulbed to reasonably powerful UVB-Narrowband unit at a later date if required.

8 Bulbs: 1780UVB-NB
1780UVB-NB
8 Bulbs, 800 Watts

Our most common device. The 1780UVB-NB provides reasonable treatment times for most psoriasis patients. (1 to 5 minutes per side) For vitiligo treatment, it is a powerful unit providing short exposure times.

10 Bulbs: 1790UVB-NB
1790UVB-NB
10 Bulbs, 1000 Watts

Increasingly popular, our most powerful device will provide the shortest treatment times. It is the best choice for treating psoriasis for those with darker skin or for those with a previous history of needing larger doses. If a patient were known to be responsive to Narrowband UVB, and if cost is not an issue, the 1790UVB-NB would be preferred. It provides the lowest cost per bulb of all SolRx UVB-Narrowband devices.

Physician approval / prescription is required for all ultraviolet home phototherapy device and UV bulb orders.
