550UVB-NB-CR "Clinic Rated" Hand, Foot & Spot

Solarc's 550UVB-NB-CR is a powerful Hand, Foot & Spot Treatment UV Phototherapy device that is "Clinic Rated" (CR) and suitable for use in a hospital, dermatologist's office or physiotherapy clinic.

This device is more than just a hand & foot unit. The hood can be easily removed and the unit tilted to provide spot treatment for any area of the body. This is especially useful for small area treatments and for left side / right side studies on symmetrical disease, before introduction of full body phototherapy. It can also be used for elbows, knees and face treatment; with possible applications for vitiligo. The device can also be turned downward for treating the tops of the feet. So it is quite multi-purpose.

The 500 Series uses the new powerful "compact fluorescent" bulbs, which have considerably more power density versus devices that use traditional T12 bulbs (1 1/2" diameter). (Compact fluorescent bulbs are used in the facial tanning areas of commercial tanning equipment for this same reason.) Only 5 bulbs are used in the 550CR, versus typically 8 for a traditional hand & foot unit - so relamping costs are lower.

A single device can be used by itself, or two devices can be mounted on the optional Positioning Cart to provide simultaneous hand and foot treatments.

These units are in use at many phototherapy clinics and dermatologist's offices. Please call Solarc for references.
